Elle Magazine Offers Internship to Homeless Girl
Advice columnist E. Jean at Elle Magazine presented the opportunity of a lifetime to a homeless girl who will spend the next four months as her personal intern. The homeless girl, Bri, who was living in a Wal-Mart parking lot, was offered the internship at the prestigious fashion magazine after she wrote a letter to the columnist explaining her situation and seeking advice on how to get another shot after screwing up a job interview. This real-life lucky break is reminiscent of the storyline in the movie, "The Pursuit Of Happyness," which saw the main character, Chris Gardner, earn a high-profile internship while living homeless and go on to achieve millionaire status.
Heartfelt Personalized Art Kits
The holiday season can be a time of festive fun, great food, and gift-giving, but for thousands of homeless children in North America, December isn't always the happiest of times -- which is what designer Samia Kallidis addresses in her latest endeavour.
Titled 'Chloe's Magic Box,' the project aims at helping the 45 children currently residing one of the homeless shelters of New York City's Bronx area. The NYC-based artist created personalized art kits for each child, including an illustrated story that serves as a coloring book, and art supplies lacking at the shelter. The kit is packaged in a beautifully decorated box, which Kallidis designed using watercolors and typography.

The iHobo App brings a new perspective on the homeless and living on the street. Housing a homeless man on your iPhone, this application gives you the option of taking care of him for three days. In doing so, he may then survive unfortunate street conditions, attaining the food and shelter he needs. However, if he is ignored, he may make the wrong decisions which would result in unthinkable circumstances. this iHobo App definitely gives you something to think about when it comes to the homeless and provides a different approach in how you could help.

Taking the Japanese art of folding paper to more extreme heights, the Tina Hovsepian 'Cardborigami' brings shelter to the homeless. An inexpensive and durable construction, it's the perfect solution for natural disaster victims and other unfortunate souls. Considering how the Tina Hovsepian 'Cardborigami' is inspired by paper art, it folds conveniently for easy transportation. It would definitely be great to see more of these simple, sustainable and life-saving designs to ensure a better living condition for those in need.

The Homeless Push Card is a creative idea from inventor Paul Elkins.
Despite being relatively small and mobile, his design features a full kitchen, rainwater collection system, and sleeping area. In addition to being secure and watertight at night, the shelter can also be converted into an open space in order to sell wares during the day.

Created by Dutch artist Bas Sprakel, “De Woonfiets” (the Housetrike) is not only designed to provide shelter but mobility as well.
EDAR
EDAR, which stands for “Everyone Deserves A Roof,” is a four-wheeled unit provided for the homeless by a non-profit organization of the same name. Maneuvering the sturdy and waterproof unit during the day is easy, and at night it can unfold into a tent-like sleeping structure. it can be secured with locks to protect the belongings of the owner, and at night the translucent windows provide a clear view of the surroundings.
Abod
The Abod Shelters Foundation designed their Abod homes to provide safety and comfort at a low cost. the structure can be assembled in one day and is also customizable, which makes it easy to personalize. moreover, the units can even be connected together if larger home structures are required. Finally, the structures can also be moved if required despite being secure and permanent.
A-Kamp47
Designed by Stephane Malka, A-KAMP47 is his answer to the fact that isolated tents used by the homeless are often exposed to the cold and theft.nstead of on the ground, the camp is installed vertically along the side of a wall on scaffolding. This not only provides better protection against the wind but also a better sense of community and safety.Since the camp is located on the wall and not the ground, it also counts as a public space.

developments are increasing in popularity throughout the United States, communities and organizations are using tiny homes in innovative ways to solve housing insecurity. The Dwellings was utilized as a case study to highlight the inadequacies of offering this affordable housing alternative for those experiencing homelessness.

Participants can join for free to find out how the programme will help care-experienced young people in Glasgow to access permanent accommodation and high-quality support.
A church without walls

For People Who Experience Homelessness, Art Catalyzes Economic Mobility and Rewrites the Narrative “We create a sense of community and empowerment — the belief that making can affirm your existence, Larry Williams has been surrounded by the arts most of his life. He grew up in Tennessee with parents who both taught music and drama at the college level. The practice room for the black students at the time was in his home, where he says, they housed four pianos.

AFTS is a nonprofit that started 12 years ago to give people living with homelessness a way to make and sell their original artwork at an annual art show. It’s run by a board of volunteer directors, who manage the website and inventory, and provide the open studio space and high-quality art supplies for the artists — mostly acrylic paint, pastel or charcoal and paper.
